Project Y is the technology and field research module of Geriatronics. The research focus is the further development of the autonomous service humanoid so-called “GARMI”, especially the development of sensitive hands and a multimodal robot head for GARMI’s perception and interaction with elderly people. Robotic systems developed at the Garmisch-Partenkirchen will be tested and validated at the research center in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Early-stage test scenarios of GARMI within pilot apartments and cooperating with local nursing home operators to directly interact with needy local elderly people.
